Clear’s MD named amongst most influential leaders in the south west

37-year-old Rachel McHugh, managing director of one of the UK’s leading business-to-business creative agencies, Clear B2B, has been named in this year’s South West Business Insider’s 42 under forty two. The list celebrates the strength of rising business stars, identifying the region’s brightest business talent who will form the next generation of successful business leaders.

Having joined Clear as an account manager in 2008, Rachel has worked her way up through various roles and was appointed as managing director in August 2017. Rachel has 15 years industry experience under her belt and a wealth of experience in strategic planning and multi-channel programme implementation.

Since taking the reins, Rachel has been responsible for driving business strategy, expanding the client services team and overseeing impressive growth of 14%. Rachel attributes Clear’s continued success and her place in the Business Insider’s 42 under forty two list to leading by example and sticking to Clear’s ethos: ‘the difference is clear thinking.’

Rachel says: “It’s more than just a strapline for us, it’s our mantra. It’s what we live and breathe. In an industry that can be guilty of getting wrapped up in its own terminology and fashions, we are straight talking, direct and keep it simple, questioning what will best get the business results clients need and delivering creative solutions that achieve it.”

Rachel’s nomination is not only cause for personal celebration but is synonymous with Clear’s own success. The last six months has seen Clear employ two new members of staff and put the wheels in motion for an office refurbishment as the business goes from strength-to-strength and gears up for its next phase of growth.

Rachel continues: “We’re beginning this financial year in a really strong position but by no means are we content to rest on our laurels. We’re already looking forward to what the next chapter has in store and as always we recognise that the best way to sustain our growth is by continuing to deliver the very best creative solutions for our clients.”
